How does home health care benefit my patient?
Our agencies offer a full line of home health services by qualified professionals to help the patient achieve and maintain independence at home. It has been established that patients recuperate better at home than in a hospital or facility.

How is home health care beneficial for the physician?
Your patients are offered the best team approach for quality care. In the patient’s home, agency professionals are the eyes and ears for the doctor. We assess the patient’s physiologic status and home environment, including medication compliance and understanding, nutrition, finances, family dynamics, and home safety. We provide treatments specific to the patient’s needs and physician orders.

Is there a lot of paperwork involved?
No! Actually, the physician’s office just has to call our agency with orders or submit a form. A registered nurse will do a comprehensive assessment and evaluation and admit the patient to our care. A plan of treatment will be immediately sent to the physician’s office for review and signature. This is a Medicare billable service - Care Plan Oversight, certification.

Do orders have to be updated?
Yes - but it is very simple. If the patient requires continued care, at the end of the 60-day certification period, our agency will deliver an updated plan of treatment. Reviewing the certification plan is a Medicare billable service - Care Plan Oversight, recertification.

Does home care require a lot of phone calls?
No. The same nurse will see a patient as much as possible. This provides continuity of care and understanding of the patient’s status. We will phone you only if there is a significant change in the patient’s status.

What insurance do you accept?
We accept Medicare for homebound patients. We also accept many private insurance benefits. If we do not participate with a patient’s insurance, we will research and notify you of an agency that can care for your patient.

Will the patient receive a bill?
No. We accept Medicare assignment and therefore do not bill the patient for any portion (copay) of services billed. Patients with private insurance may be billed for the patient responsibility portion of their covered services.
